Last County — terms of use

Terms of use for this website.

This covers one thing: a website about a game that is being made. There is no game to download, no account to open and nothing to buy, so most of what a game’s terms normally cover has nothing to attach to yet. Rather than write those parts in advance, this document says what is true now and keeps a list of what has to be written before anything else ships.

Read this part first

A developer wrote this, not a lawyer. No solicitor, attorney or legal adviser has drafted, reviewed or approved a word of it. It is not legal advice and it is not a substitute for the terms this project will need before it does anything more than describe itself.

What that means for you in practice: treat this as an honest description of how the site behaves, not as a contract that has been tested. Where a normal terms page would put a clause about disputes, or about which country’s law applies, this one has a gap and a note naming what belongs there. Those gaps are listed together in section 16, and they are gaps because writing them badly would be worse than leaving them open.

01 What this document is

These terms apply to this website and to nothing else. They do not cover a game client, because none has been released. They do not cover a store, a payment, an account or a prize, because none of those exists in this project.

Using the site means reading pages and, if you choose to, connecting a wallet to see your own address displayed back to you. That is the whole of it. If you disagree with anything here, the remedy is the ordinary one: close the tab. Nothing is retained on any server when you do, because there is no server.

This document does not create an agreement between you and a company, for the reason given in section 2: there is no company. It is published so that what the site does is written down somewhere a reader can point at, and so that the list of what is still missing is public rather than private.

02 Who publishes this site

No company, studio or other legal entity exists in this project. Not as a registered business, not as a shell, not as a name held for later. Last County is an independent project made by its developer, and there is no organisation standing behind it that could be named here.

That is why the slot below is empty. It is not an oversight, a template that did not render, or a value someone forgot to fill in.

Publisher, and the place it is established

Not filled in

What fills it: a company that has actually been incorporated somewhere, with the country or state it was incorporated in and the address on its register. One real entity, named once it exists.

What must not fill it: a trading name, a project name, a placeholder in brackets, or a country picked because it sounds plausible. Until an entity exists, this stays blank — and if you are ever shown a version of this page with a company name in it that you cannot find on a public register, that page is not this one.

The project’s own list of undecided values records this as item 32 — the operating legal entity and jurisdiction, to be named with counsel before any money moves. It is published on the docs page alongside the thirty-odd other values that are not settled.

03 What this site is, and is not

It is a set of pages describing a game in development: what it is meant to be, what has been built, what has only been designed, and what has been cut. Some pages carry an optional wallet connection, described in section 5.

It is not

  • Not a shop. Nothing on any page is priced for sale, and there is no checkout, cart, product or order. Figures do appear in the documentation, in a worked example of a mode that has not been built; they illustrate arithmetic and price nothing.
  • Not a game client. The game does not run here and cannot be played in a browser. Nothing on this site is the game.
  • Not a download. There is no packaged build. The download page exists to say so and to be where a file goes if there is ever one.
  • Not a financial service. It holds no money, moves no money, takes no custody of anything, and never asks you to sign a transaction. It is not a broker, an exchange, a wallet, an issuer or an adviser.
  • Not an offer. Nothing here offers, solicits or recommends the purchase of anything, and no price, return, yield or future value is stated or implied.

04 There are no accounts

There is no account system on this site or in the game. There is no registration, no username, no password, no email sign-up, no password reset and no profile. Nothing asks you for a credential, because there is nowhere for a credential to be checked.

The page labelled “Sign in” connects a wallet and explains what that does. The name is the one people look for; the page itself is careful to say that it creates no account and grants nothing. If any page claiming to be part of this site asks you for a password, an email verification code, a seed phrase or a payment detail, it is not part of this site.

Because there are no accounts, this document has no clause about registration, account security, suspension, termination or deletion. Those are listed in section 15 as things that have to be written before an account system ships, not after.

05 Connecting a wallet

Connecting is optional. Every page can be read without it, and nothing on the site is hidden behind it.

What it does

  • Asks a wallet extension you have already installed for the public address you currently have selected, and shows it to you.
  • Keeps a note of that address in your own browser so the header can still show you as connected on the next page — see section 6.
  • Lets you disconnect again at any time, which erases that note.

What it does not do

  • It does not create an account and does not sign you in. There is no account and no server to be signed in to.
  • It does not send your address anywhere. This site makes no network requests of its own at all: no server, no database, no analytics, no tracking pixel.
  • It does not ask for a signature. Nothing here calls for a signed message or a signed transaction.
  • It cannot move anything. No transaction, no approval, no allowance, no swap, no staking. A page that never requests a signature has no way to spend or transfer what you hold.
  • It grants nothing. No allocation, no item, no access, no balance, no entitlement of any kind, now or later.

Nobody working on Last County will ever ask you for a seed phrase or a private key, anywhere, for any reason, and this site will never ask you to approve a transaction. Anyone who does is not us.

06 What is kept in your browser

If you connect a wallet, the site header — including the one at the top of this page — stores three values in your browser’s local storage. They are stored by your browser, on the device you are using, and by nothing and nobody else. All three sit under the prefix lc.local.v1. so you can find them in your browser’s developer tools and read them yourself.

  • lc.local.v1.address — the public wallet address your extension handed over, in full.
  • lc.local.v1.trusted — a flag recording that a wallet has connected in this browser before. Without it the site makes no call to a wallet extension at all, so a first-time visitor is never touched by wallet code.
  • lc.local.v1.name. plus the address — a display name, only if you typed one. It is capped at 24 characters and it stays on your device.

Disconnect erases all three. So does clearing site data in your browser. There is nothing to delete on a server, because none of it is ever sent to one.

Nothing else is stored. No cookie is set. There is no balance, no points total, no score, no session token, no email address and no signature kept anywhere, because nothing in this project produces any of those. It is a note in one browser on one device, not an account.

This section is the one most likely to go out of date, and it has already changed once: the site stored nothing at all until the shared header shipped. If those keys change, this section is wrong from the moment they do — see section 14.

07 The token

A Last County token was launched on Solana through pump.fun. It is external to this site and external to the game. It is not sold here, not distributed here, and not required to play anything.

  • Nothing here is an offer. This site does not sell, offer, solicit or recommend the token, and nobody speaking for this project is authorised to offer one. No price, return, yield, allocation or future value is stated or implied.
  • It is not an investment and must not be treated as one. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
  • The game contains no token integration. The token does nothing in a match, unlocks nothing and is never a prize.
  • No contract address has been published on this site. Until one is, any address you are sent claiming to be ours is not ours. Buying against a wrong address is unrecoverable and nobody here can undo it.

Anything bought on a public market is bought at your own risk, from third parties, through venues this project does not run and cannot control. It can go to zero.

08 Nothing is for sale

There is no payment path anywhere in this project. No purchase, no deposit, no withdrawal, no cash-out, no subscription, no entry fee, no in-app purchase and no prize. Nothing takes card details, bank details or identity documents, because nothing here has any use for them.

This is enforced in the code as well as written here: the game’s release checks fail if trading or custody code appears. The gates are real and named -- Tools/Release/Test-LastCountyEGSBlockchainReadiness.ps1 runs artifact.no_forbidden_content, and test_module_contains_no_trading_or_custody_surface guards the market module -- but "at all" would overstate them: they cover the release artifact and that module, not every line of the project.

So this document contains no payment terms, no refund policy, no chargeback procedure and no withdrawal rules. There is nothing for them to govern. Every one of them is listed in section 15 against the feature that would require it.

09 The game is unfinished

Last County is in development. Everything described on this site may change, be delayed, or be cut entirely. Descriptions of modes, maps, items, the economy and the paid mode are descriptions of intent, not commitments, and several parts of them are explicitly labelled as designs that have not been built.

No release date has been announced. There is no beta, no early-access programme and no store listing. Nothing on this site is a promise that the game will be released at all, or that any particular feature will exist in it if it is.

Screenshots and art are labelled where they are key art rather than captures of the current build. Figures given as targets are labelled as targets and have not been measured.

10 Using this site

There is very little to regulate here: the site takes no input except an optional display name that never leaves your device, and it has no server to attack, no account to hijack and no data to exfiltrate.

Two things are asked of you, and they are the ordinary ones.

  • Do not present copies of this site, or pages made to look like it, as the real thing — particularly not ones that ask for a seed phrase, a signature or a payment. That is the specific harm this project can do nothing about after the fact.
  • Do not claim to speak for Last County, or to be offering a token, an allocation, a beta key or a build on its behalf.

There is no user content on this site: no upload, no chat, no comments, no reviews and no submissions of any kind. Nothing you can post exists, so this document has no content licence, no moderation policy and no takedown procedure. Those arrive with the feature, not before it.

11 Intellectual property

The Last County name, the writing on these pages, the artwork and the game’s own assets belong to the project’s developer. Reading the site, quoting it and linking to it are all fine. Presenting it as your own, or as an official communication, is not.

What belongs to other people

  • Unreal Engine and the Lyra sample project. The game is built with Unreal Engine 5.8 on Epic Games’ Lyra sample, used under Epic’s own licence terms. Unreal Engine is a trademark of Epic Games, Inc. Manny and Quinn are Epic’s mannequin characters, used here as placeholder survivors.
  • Licensed asset kits. Parts of the environment are built from asset kits licensed from their creators and remain theirs.
  • Other names and marks. X is a mark of X Corp. Phantom is a mark of its owner. Solana and pump.fun are the names of things this project does not own or operate. They appear here to identify those things accurately, and no affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement by any of them is claimed.

Where a third party’s licence governs their material, their licence governs it — this page describes attribution, it does not restate or vary anyone else’s terms.

12 Third parties

Some links here lead to places this project does not run. Once you follow one, you are on someone else’s site under someone else’s terms, and nothing in this document applies there.

The same goes for wallet extensions. A wallet is software you installed, made by somebody else, and it decides what it does with your keys. This site can ask it for an address and can ask it to disconnect. It cannot control it, cannot see your keys and is not responsible for how the extension behaves, for its updates, or for anything you approve inside it.

Public blockchains, exchanges and launch venues are third parties in the same way. Transactions on them are irreversible, this project cannot reverse, refund or freeze anything on them, and it has no ability to recover funds sent anywhere.

13 No warranty

Said plainly, because a paragraph in capital letters is not clearer and is usually there to be skipped:

  • The site is provided as it is. It may be offline, incomplete, or wrong in places. It is a description of a project in progress and parts of it will go out of date between edits.
  • Nothing here is promised to keep working. Pages may change or be removed. The optional wallet connection may break, particularly when an extension changes how it behaves.
  • Nothing here is advice. Not financial, not investment, not tax, not legal. If you are deciding whether to buy anything on a public market, this site is not a basis for that decision and does not claim to be.
  • Where the law gives you rights, it gives you them. Consumer protections that apply to you are not affected by anything written on this page, and this document does not attempt to sign them away.

A normal terms page would also cap someone’s liability here. This one does not, because a limitation of liability is one of the instruments listed in section 16: it only means something drafted against a named entity under a named law, and there is neither yet.

14 Changes, and contact

How this changes

This page is versioned and dated at the top. When it changes, the version number goes up and the date changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list and no address to hold on one.

The project’s standing rule elsewhere on this site is that a change is written down here before it appears in a build. That applies to this document too. In particular, each of the following makes this page wrong on the day it happens, and each requires a new version before or as it ships:

  • A legal entity being formed — section 2 stops being a blank.
  • The header’s stored keys changing, being added to, or anything being sent to a server — section 6 is quoted key by key so a diff catches it.
  • Any payment path, any account system, any user content, or any playable build.
  • A contract address being published — section 7 changes.

Contact

There is no contact address to publish. No email address, support inbox, chat server or form exists for this project. Rather than print one that nobody reads, this slot is left open too.

How to reach someone about this document

Not filled in

What fills it: one monitored address that a person actually reads, published once it exists and once someone is responsible for answering it.

What must not fill it: an address nobody monitors, an autoresponder, or a channel invented so the section looks complete. A contact route that goes nowhere is worse than an admitted absence, because it costs the reader the time of writing.

The public account linked in the site footer is the only place this project posts. It is not a support channel and messages there are not a way to reach anyone about this document.

15 What this document does not cover yet

Everything above describes a website. The list below is what a lawyer has to write before the matching feature ships — not after it, and not in the same week it launches. It is published here so the order is a matter of record rather than of memory.

The left column is a trigger, not a plan. Nothing in it is announced, dated or promised, and several items may never be built.

Triggers, and what has to exist before them
If this ever ships This has to be written first, by counsel
A paid mode Eligibility and a real age gate. Jurisdictions the mode is not offered in, and the mechanism that enforces that. Entry-fee and prize terms. Refund and cancellation terms. Identity and anti-money-laundering checks. Tax treatment and reporting. Whether the mode is a game of skill where it is offered, in writing, per jurisdiction.
Any payment path at all Payment terms. Chargeback and dispute handling. Withdrawal rules, limits and timings. Who holds the money and under what authorisation. What happens to a balance if the project stops.
Accounts Registration terms. Account security and what happens after a compromise. Suspension, termination and appeal. A privacy policy covering what is collected, why, where it is stored, how long for and how to have it deleted — no privacy policy exists today, and this document is not one.
User content The licence a user grants by posting. Acceptable-use and moderation rules. A notice-and-takedown procedure for copyright complaints, with a named recipient for them, and a counter-notice route.
Prediction markets The whole regulated-activity question, answered before a line of it is built: what the activity legally is in each place it would be offered, what licence or registration it requires, and whether it can be offered at all. This is not a terms-page edit.
A released game An end-user licence for the client itself, storefront terms wherever it is listed, and rules for cheating, bans and enforcement — none of which this website document covers.

On a narrow screen the table scrolls sideways rather than taking the page with it — drag it, or focus it and use the arrow keys, to see both columns.

16 What is not written here

A normal terms page ends with several clauses this one does not have. They are missing on purpose. Each is a substantive legal instrument whose effect depends on a named party and a named legal system, and this project has neither — see section 2. Written by a developer they would be, at best, decoration; at worst they would mislead a reader into thinking a right had been given up.

  • Which law applies Not stated, because it follows from where an entity is established, and none is.
  • Which courts hear a dispute Not stated, for the same reason. No court is named and none is chosen.
  • Arbitration No agreement to arbitrate is made here. A binding one removes access to a court and is drafted by counsel or not at all.
  • Class-action waiver None is asked for. Its validity varies by place and it only ever appears alongside a real dispute clause.
  • Indemnity You are not asked to indemnify anyone. There is no party here to be indemnified.
  • Limitation of liability No cap is set. A cap is drafted against a named entity under a named law, and it is bounded by consumer law that does not move because a web page says so.

Because none of that is here, this page does not claim to take away any right you have. If you need to know where you stand legally with this project, the accurate answer today is that there is no counterparty to stand opposite — and that is exactly why section 2 is blank rather than filled in with something that reads well.
